First weekend as a part timer!

So what did I do? All in all it was pretty chilled, and unusually 5 days off instead of 4 due to flexing for work events.

Celebrate going part time

Such a life changing event, best mark it with the age old British tradition of heading down the pub.

Got a hair cut

I was falling behind a bit on this, so now I can look smarter when I do go back to work!

Robot diagnostics

Ran some experiments and finally figured out why the spider robot wasn't working. After a bit of maths with torque and electronics, it turns out his legs were too long. This leaves options of (a) Shell out an obscene amount of money on bigger servos or (b) a complete redesign with a rethink on the legs and weight. I'll take a B please.

eBike ride

Rented an ebike for an hour and zipped around the city for a few miles.

Walked

Bit more exercise, walked around the city for possibly 10 miles.

Supermarket

Instead of going to the corner shop for milk and bread, walked to the supermarket

Friday night beer

Had a beer with friends.

Online gaming

Played some 7 Days To Die with friends.

3D Printing

Using up dregs of filament which would otherwise be too short to be of use on Meccano-like shapes. The aim is to run robot experiments next weekend by being able to construct ad-hoc test rigs for prototyping prior to a lengthy design phase.

Chores

Washing, tidied kitchen, cleaned shower.

Checked work email

I just couldn't resist. I've been unable to shake the feeling that I'm doing something very bad with work, and will be in trouble for missing something, or not doing enough now I'm only in 3 days per week! Yet things actually seem... ok. It only took 20 mins, so not too disrupting of the extra long weekend :).
